The Story Behind the Chair
Michael Martin has called Nashville home since 2000, and for over seven years, Hawkins Barbershop has been his canvas. What began as a six-chair, full-service shop has intentionally evolved into something rarer — a private, solo studio where every appointment is unrushed, focused, and deeply personal.
Michael's journey spans continents. He has refined his skills across major cities from Los Angeles to Rotterdam, bringing a global perspective back to Nashville's chair. As an educator for Reuzel, he has shaped industry standards and taught on stages at national hair shows.
The result is a barbershop built on trust, quiet conversation, and consistency — a space where craft and character meet, every single time.

12 hours notice is required to cancel or reschedule. Less than 12 hours notice results in a 100% charge for the service. No-shows are included under this policy. After 10 minutes past your scheduled time, you will be asked to reschedule.
No. Hawkins is appointment-only. This is intentional — it ensures every client receives Michael's complete, undivided attention without interruption. Book in advance via the online system.
All major payment methods are accepted. There is a price discount available for Cash or Bitcoin payments made in-shop. A credit card is required at time of booking to hold your appointment.
Hawkins welcomes young men who are old enough to sit in the barber chair unaccompanied and remain still throughout the cut. If you feel your child may not yet be ready, Hawkins is happy to recommend a better fit in the meantime.
