Our team includes Speech-Language Pathologists who hold IAOM Certification in Orofacial Myology — one of the highest designations in the field — and Doctors of Physical Therapy with specialized training in myofunctional disorders. We serve both. SDCST has dedicated care pathways for pediatric patients (under 18) and adult patients (18 and older). Many of our services — including myofunctional therapy, physical therapy, and airway consultations — are highly effective for adults dealing with sleep issues, chronic fatigue, or pain.

Myofunctional therapy addresses the muscles of the mouth, face, and throat. If your child snores, mouth-breathes, has a tongue thrust, is in orthodontic treatment that isn't holding, or shows signs of unrefreshed sleep or ADHD-like behavior, myofunctional therapy may be the missing piece. Our IAOM-certified specialists are among the very few in San Diego qualified to evaluate and treat these conditions.

Our physical therapy services are in-network with nearly all major insurance companies. We recommend contacting our office directly to discuss coverage for specific therapy services, as benefits vary by plan and service type.

Yes. Our physical therapy services are available for patients of all ages and conditions — from pediatric developmental needs to adult rehabilitation. Our PTs have worked with professional athletes and bring that same level of expertise to every patient.
