Frequently Asked Questions

Your Questions,
Answered

Gestalt language processors learn language in whole chunks or scripts — sometimes called scripting or delayed echolalia — rather than building meaning word by word. It is a natural and valid way of acquiring language. At Seashore, we specialize in supporting gestalt processors using the Natural Language Acquisition framework to help children develop flexible, meaningful communication at their own pace.

Traditional therapy often focuses on correcting perceived deficits. Our neurodiversity-affirming approach views your child's differences as valid, not problems to fix. Therapy is child-led, play-based, and rooted in connection and sensory regulation — we build communication that feels authentic to who your child is.

We work with children of all ages, from early intervention through adolescence. Every approach is tailored to your child's developmental stage, interests, and sensory needs.

Sessions look a lot like play — because that is how children communicate and grow. Activities might include sensory bins, building, music, swinging, movement, or imaginative games, all chosen to match your child's interests and help them reach the calm, focused state where communication thrives.

Yes — supporting autistic children is at the heart of our practice. We take a strengths-based, neurodiversity-affirming approach that honors how autistic children communicate, learn, and connect, rather than pressuring them to fit a neurotypical mold.
