Seattle Special Care Dentistry was founded on a belief that is simple but radical in practice: every person deserves compassionate, expert dental care—regardless of their medical history, anxiety level, physical ability, or past experiences with dentistry. Many of our patients come to us because they could not get the care they needed anywhere else.
Our medically focused practice brings together general dentists, a prosthodontist, pediatric dentists, an endodontist, and an on-site anesthesiologist. Our affiliation with Swedish Medical Center gives us access to hospital operating rooms for the most complex cases. Dr. Kevin Joe, one of only a handful of dentists in Washington state with a certificate in Maxillofacial Prosthodontics, leads our most advanced reconstructive work.
Located in the Northcut Landing medical office complex near University Village, our office is designed for accessibility—with underground parking, easy medical transport access, and a welcoming environment built around your comfort at every step.
A rare assembly of specialists coordinating seamlessly under one roof so you never have to navigate care alone.

The staff here is just amazing, they are really attentive and personal. We loved the way that they understood disabilities and worked to accommodate them.
The entire staff was so, so helpful and friendly and I felt completely safe. They made sure they told me everything they were doing before the procedure and really calmed down my anxiety.
This practice is seriously the best ever, especially if you have prior trauma or anxiety related to dental work. I cannot say enough good things about them!
This is a great dentist office with caring and attentive staff. They were wonderful in helping us with our father with early-onset alzheimer's. They took care of him with great care, dignity and assistance.
Call, text, or submit online. We connect with you to understand your situation and schedule the right appointment.
Your first visit is about understanding you—your history, concerns, and goals. We listen first, then recommend. No pressure.

With comfort amenities, full sedation options, and a compassionate team guiding you, we make treatment as positive as possible.
Dental health is a long-term journey. We stay with you through maintenance, follow-up, and changing needs for years to come.

We also welcome patients seeking routine dental care who want a practice that genuinely prioritizes comfort and individualized attention.
Yes—and you are exactly the kind of patient we specialize in caring for. We can meet in a consult room before you ever enter the treatment area, share as much or as little information as you prefer, provide heated blankets and music, and use whatever level of sedation fits your needs. Your pace is our pace, and there is no judgment here.
We offer the full spectrum: nitrous oxide for mild comfort during treatment, oral sedation for relaxation and possible amnesia of the visit, and full general anesthesia administered by our on-site anesthesiologist. We will review your options together and recommend the most appropriate approach for your situation.
Yes. Our pediatric dentists provide routine exams and cleanings for children, and are also trained to provide treatment under general anesthesia for children with complex medical needs who cannot safely receive care while awake. They have extensive experience with the most medically complex young patients.
Hospital dentistry is for patients whose medical conditions require the supportive services of a hospital environment. Our providers have operating room privileges at Swedish Medical Center for these cases. An initial consultation always takes place in our office first, and we will advise you honestly if hospital-based treatment is appropriate.
Absolutely. Because of our specialized expertise and Swedish Medical Center affiliation, we routinely receive referrals from dentists across the Seattle community for their most complex patients. We welcome provider referrals and will keep your referring dentist informed throughout care.
